I had a rough trip getting to Toronto. I was at the Via station and I was on the platform when my train came. I watched it come, I waited for the doors to open, and then I watched it leave. THEY NEVER OPENED THE DOORS!!! So I ran back through the underground tunnel that has no ramps for heavy wheeled luggage and told the Via guy what happened. He was like "SHIT sorry!" and gave me a ticket for the Go Train that was just pulling into the station. Those things stay for boarding for like... 10 seconds before leaving. So by the time I lug my suitcase down the stairs again and through the tunnel and back up the stairs, I got to watch it leave. I just missed 2 trains before 9AM. That must be a record.
I decided to stay and wait for the next train going in the same direction and hope that I ended up at Union Station. I never took the Go Train before, I didn't know what I was doing. I called my mom at work and told her what happened. Some super nice guy overhead me and said that Union was coming up soon.
So I got to Union and got LOST. Stupid big train station!! Not really lost, I knew where I was, I just didn't know where to go to get to where I needed to be. I was downstairs where they have all the food and shops and I so desperately wanted a coffee by this point but didn't have time because my train to Kingston would be leaving soon. I got my bearings by locating the Cinnabon and I booked it upstairs and got into the boarding line as it was leaving to get to the train.
I sat behind some guy who reclined his chair the whole way, so I moved one seat back. I was sitting diagonally in front of a girl who was knitting (I think mittens) and I kind of wanted to talk to her because she looked super cool and was doing something cool with 3 double-pointed needles (after thinking about it, it was very clever). But instead I just bought a coffee from the trolly lady (it makes me feel like I'm the Hogwarts express - "Anything from the trolly, dears?") and listened to some music. Couldn't get much reading done.
But I'm home now and I napped (woke up at 6AM) for like 3 or 4 hours, and I totally don't want to work anymore. I don't think it's justified, my exam is Thursday.
So I'm going to read the short stories I haven't read this term and study some literary terms.
